Muine Bheag Vocational School commits itself to providing continuing education for the community.  It seeks to promote a lifelong attitude to learning.

Thus the school will always:

•  endeavor to provide Post Leaving Certificate courses to meet the educational needs of the area
• continue to provide evening classes to meet demand
• provide the necessary computer skills to meet the needs of a rapidly changing technological society
• as part of the Home/School/Community Liasion Programme, the school endeavors to meet the personal, educational and recreational needs of parents in order to promote the self-confidence and self-esteem so that they will become more involved in their children's education.

Muine Bheag offers a number of PLC courses, both day courses and NIGHT COURSES.

All of the courses offered are of one-year in duration, are full-time and fully certified FETAC courses.

 These include:

• Computers for Beginners - Level 5
• ECDL and Return to Work Skills - Level 5
• Receptionist Administration - Level 5
• Interior Design & Furniture Restoration - Level 5
• Creative Craft - Level 5
• Childcare including Special Needs - Level 5
• Sports and Recreation - Level 5
• Healthcare Support - Level 5
• Equestrian Studies - Level 5
• Advanced Leisure Management - Level 6

APPLICATION PROCESS

All completed applications must be submitted to the school before mid September when the courses commence.  Students are advised to apply early as places on courses will be limited.

All applications must be accompanied by a non-refundable registration fee of €25.  This fee will only be refunded in the event of a course not going ahead.

All applicants are expected to be over 18 years of age for entry to all of the above courses.

Some participants may be eligible for P.L.C. grants.

Some courses will incur extra costs for the completion of some modules.  Students will be informed of such costs on commencement of their courses in September.

Necessary books may be rented for a small fee.  Students are also charged a minimal fee to cover photocopying/material expenses during the year.
